  1. All IDF ranks look the same and are named the same for all forces. They differ by color: Army=Bronze on Olive. Navy=Gold on navy blue. Air Force=Silver on sky blue.
  2. The rank of an Admiral (4 stars) does not exist in the Israeli Navy. 4 stars General is the rank of the Chief of Staff of the IDF, who until today came only from the Army.
  3. Sleeve ranks are only worn on official occasions overseas. The current uniform of the navy consists of white shirt and blue trousers. During the winter months, a dark blue jacket is worn over the white shirt.
